# Give store credit on company location (B2B)

By default, Shopify assigns store credit to **individual customers**. However, in B2B setups—especially on **Shopify Plus**—customers often belong to a **company** with multiple **locations**, and orders are placed on behalf of those locations.

The **“Give store credit to B2B buyers on the company location”** setting allows you to credit rewards **to the company location instead of the individual customer**. This makes store credit shared, reusable, and far more practical for B2B workflows.

### How It Works

#### Default Shopify Behavior

* Store credit is awarded to the **customer account**
* Credit cannot be shared with other users in the same company
* This can create confusion when multiple buyers order for the same business location

#### With This Setting Enabled

* Store credit is awarded to the **company location** used during checkout
* Any customer assigned to that location can:
  * Earn store credit
  * Redeem existing store credit
* Credit becomes **shared across all users of that location**

***

### Example Flow

1. A customer logs in and selects a **company location**
2. They place an order for that location
3. A store credit reward (e.g. ₹1200) is generated
4. Instead of being added to the customer:
   * The credit is added to the **selected company location**
5. The store credit is immediately available to:
   * Any other customer linked to that same location

***

### Why This Is Useful for B2B Stores

* ✅ **Shared budgets**: Store credit behaves like a company wallet
* ✅ **Cleaner accounting**: Credit stays tied to the business unit, not individuals
* ✅ **Multiple buyers, one balance**: Perfect for procurement teams
* ✅ **Matches Shopify’s recommended B2B approach**

This setup closely mirrors how businesses actually operate—multiple buyers, one account, one balance.

### Important Notes

* This feature works only when:
  * Shopify Plus is enabled
  * B2B Companies & Locations are in use
* Store credit is **location-specific**, not company-wide
* Credit will not appear on the customer profile once this is enabled

***

### Summary

If you run a B2B store with:

* Multiple buyers per company
* Orders placed across different locations
* Shared purchasing responsibility

Enabling **store credit at the company location level** ensures your rewards system is accurate, scalable, and aligned with real-world B2B workflows.
