# Price list settings

Discount titles, whether your wholesale pricing stacks with other discounts, the case-quantity validation message, and price-list-wide rules.

Open **Settings** from the price list editor. These apply across the whole price list; the equivalents on a [tag's settings](/dollarlabs-b2b-custom-pricing/getting-started/customer-tags-and-columns.md) apply to that tag only and take over where set.

## Discount titles

**Discount title** is the label buyers see on the discount line at checkout and on their order. It is also what your support team sees when someone asks "what is this line?".

**Loose discount title** names the second discount line generated by [loose unit pricing](/dollarlabs-b2b-custom-pricing/getting-started/progressive-case-multiples-and-loose-unit-pricing.md). If you use loose pricing, set this — otherwise buyers see two similarly-named lines and cannot tell them apart.

Give both something recognisable. "Wholesale pricing" beats "Discount".

## Discount combinations

Three checkboxes decide whether your wholesale pricing can stack with other Shopify discounts:

* **Product discounts**
* **Order discounts**
* **Shipping discounts**

Tick a class to let your price list combine with discounts of that class. Leave it unticked and Shopify picks whichever single discount is better for the buyer.

{% hint style="warning" %}
This is the setting behind "my wholesale customer used a coupon and got both". If wholesale pricing should be the *only* pricing your trade customers get, leave product and order discounts unticked.
{% endhint %}

Shipping is the one most merchants do want ticked — free-shipping promotions usually should apply on top of wholesale pricing rather than replacing it.

{% hint style="info" %}
Shopify's own combination rules apply on the other side too. A discount that is not itself marked as combinable will not combine, however you set this.
{% endhint %}

## Validation message

The default message shown when a cart breaks a [case multiple](/dollarlabs-b2b-custom-pricing/getting-started/volume-tiers-and-case-multiples.md).

Available variables: `{productTitle}`, `{variantTitle}`, `{caseQuantity}`, `{tagName}`.

This is the message behind the enforcement. The **Validation Message** theme block has its own message setting for what buyers see on the product page — set both, and word them consistently.

## Payment and delivery rules

The price list can carry rules that gate all of its pricing on payment method, delivery method or cart subtotal. These are the same rules available per tag, documented in [Payment & delivery rules](/dollarlabs-b2b-custom-pricing/price-list/payment-and-delivery-rules.md).

Set them here when the condition is genuinely universal — "no wholesale pricing on orders under $250, ever". Set them on a tag when only that segment is affected.

## What is not here

* **Turning pricing on and off** — the status switch on the home page.
* **Tag-specific titles and rules** — the tag's own settings.
* **How prices look on the storefront** — the [theme blocks](/dollarlabs-b2b-custom-pricing/show-final-prices-on.md).
